Tuesday the 25th
Today we started out by going to the local school, which allowed us to teach hygiene to approximately 60 students, teachers and staff. The mayor that we met the previous day wrote a letter to all the local schools introducing us and allowing us to visit the school and to teach hygiene and talk about God. Each of us participated in the training, Cathy and Sharon, with a lot of help from Elizabet, did the sections on germs, including how they are transferred, how to wash hands, and how flies transfer the germs to our food. Diana, Pastor Guillermo’s wife, did the community mapping with the students and Howard and I did the section on tooth care. Elizabet’s husband Walter, did the faith bracelets and did a great job. At the end the pastor prayed for the school and the staff as well as giving a short message. Afterwards we took pictures and signed a book that they keep with the history of the school. We were able to go back to the hotel and give them a picture to include in the book.
In the afternoon, after another lunch of pizza and empanadas, Pastor Jorge and his team from Parana arrived as did the tanks that we had shipped from Parana. After greets and meets with his team, the men started work on building the stand for the tanks, and the women again did what ever it is that they do….
Almost finished the stand when Pastor Jorge insisted we go to dinner and get to bed. It was a long trip for them as it took them12 hours from Parana to get to San Pedro. His team included Diego, Victor, Emmanuel, Angie, Sophie, Berlin, and Florencia. We really want to thank them for coming and to keep them in prayer while they are here as well as their trip back to Parana.
All for now, today we install the stand and tank, do water testing and visit another school. The week started off going slow but not is starting to speed by.
God Bless from Argentina
